TUSB3410: Several errors in the datasheet

Part Number: TUSB3410

Hi Team,

Our customer found several errors in the datasheet of TUSB3410 and has some questions as follows. Can you please confirm the correct information.

1. In the TUSB3410 datasheet Figure 5-4, the DB-9 pinout drawing is jumbled up. Some boxes overlap, and some pin numbers are misplaced. See attached capture.
2. In Figure 5-11, the bottom four inputs of the multiplexer are listed in reverse order with respect to the upper four inputs, as well as the order in the Modem Status Register.
3. Figures on pages 2 and 11 contain a "USB" block containing the text "TxR". The text "Tx/Rx" may be clearer.
4. In Figure 5-3, one of the multiplexers is missing a character (should be "MUX" instead of "MU").
5. Figure 5-13 refers to "Table 11-9". Should that be Table 5-24?
6. Figure 5-14 refers to "Table 11-10". Should that be Table 5-25?
7. Table 6-1 contains "VDD1/8". Should that be "VDD1V8" (to match Figure 6-6)? Likewise, should the pages 4 and 5 refer to the pin name as "VDD1V8" instead of VDD18", to match the many Evaluation boards that use the TUSB3410?
8. Section 4.5 refers to "Vss". Should that be "GND", to match the pin name used elsewhere in the datasheet?
9. In Figure 5-10, should the pull-down resistor on D+ be labelled with a value of 15 kohm, like the pull-down on D-?
10. Figure 6-6 seems to only show decoupling capacitors, and not the "Power implementation" that is shown in Figure 6-3. Is it trying to show how to implement the circuit when the internal 1.8 V regulator is enabled (if so, can the datasheet say so)? That section is ambiguous.
11. In section 6.4.2, "3.3-V terminals" should read "1.8-V terminals".
12. In section 6.4.2, "VREGEN" should have a negation bar above it.
13. In the first paragraph of page 81, change "reposes" to "responses
14. Figure 6-9 shows traces crisscrossing each other on the top layer."5. In Figure 6-3i, the resistor divider( (R1, R2) seem to have exceedingly large resistance values for the supply of the 1.8 V input. Is the current load really that small? I did not find an Idd rating for the 1.8 V input n the Specifications page 7).

Regards,

Danilo

  • Hi Danilo,

Thanks for the list here. Let me check with the datasheet owner and get back to you soon.

  • Looks like many of these issues were caused by conversion for old datasheet format to a newer format. We will review initially and make changes as needed.

    5. Figure 5-13 refers to "Table 11-9". Should that be Table 5-24?

    • Correct

    6. Figure 5-14 refers to "Table 11-10". Should that be Table 5-25?

    • Correct

    • Pin name should match the datasheet, VDD18. Table 6-1 should refer to this pin name as well.

    8. Section 4.5 refers to "Vss". Should that be "GND", to match the pin name used elsewhere in the datasheet?

    • Correct.

    9. In Figure 5-10, should the pull-down resistor on D+ be labelled with a value of 15 kohm, like the pull-down on D-?

    • The value is of both resistors is 15k. Value is intended to apply to both resistors.
