Could I use TRS3227 for uart on TDA3 customer board?

    The TRS3227 is an RS232 transceiver and the SN74AVC4T245 is a direction controllable level shifter.

    You typically wouldn't use a level translator to drive a cable whereas an RS-232 transceiver is designed to drive cables. I would assume the SN device would mainly be used for onboard communication since it likely can't drive the current required for cabling.

    It depends what speeds and signals you need to send. Based on figure 4-1 of the TDA3EVM user's guide, it shows 4 UART signals. The CTS/RTS/TX/RX. The TRS3227 looks to be a single channel transceiver so it would only take care of TX/RX but you may need to get another or upgrade to a larger transceiver if you plan to use the CTS/RTS.
