TPD4E05U06-Q1: Can polarity of differential signals be swapped?

Part Number: TPD4E05U06-Q1

The datasheet for the part displays this pin out with pins 1 and 2 with D1+ and D1-. My question is - If one were to use pins 1 and 2 for a differential signal, with the positive polarity on pin 1 and the negative polarity on pin 2, can these pins also work the same way if the negative polarity is on pin 1 and the positive polarity is on pin 2?

The block diagram shows nothing evident that this cannot be done.

Additionally, the layout example displays this being done.
