ISO7240M vs. ADuM1400 supply current

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: ISO7240M
Hello,

I'm promoting ISO7240M to our customer.
Could you please kindly let me know the sales point of ISO7240M  compared with ADuM1400, please let me know?
I explained AC specification( samping rate , skew , slewrate) already.

Our customer mentioned that ISO7240M supply current(Icc2) is higher than ADum1400.
Icc1 of ISO7240M is lower than ADuM1400.
But, in customer's boards secondary power is important.
Please see the attached pdf file as ICC data from datasheet of ISO7240M and ADuM1400.
If my opinion about Icc is wrong, please let me know.

Best Regards,
Ryuji Asaka
  • Hi Ryuji,

You are interpreting the graphs correctly, as far as I can tell. While it is true that Icc2 for our device is higher than for the ADI device, if you look at total supply current we are significantly lower. The ISO7240M is 27mA typical at 80Mbps, and the ADuM1400 is 42mA typical at 80Mbps.

I'm guessing the difference in distribution between Icc1 and Icc2 for the ISO7240M and the ADuM1400 is simply due to the difference in isolation technologies and architectures.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Thanks!
