TLK10034 Evaluation Module Setup

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLK10034

I am having troubles to trying to build a 10 GigE link with the TLK10034 evaluation board.

My setup is as follows :

(Xilinx SP623 Evalboard) => XAUI=> TLK10034 Evalboard => FTLX8571D3BCL-EM => Fiber Optic (GCFAZLLL30-M)=> FTLX8571D3BCL-EM TX/RX=> 10 GigE Myricom PCIe Card => Windows 7 PC.

The SP623 has a Spartan 6 where I have loaded a firmware that transmits a fixed pattern through the XAUI using ref clock of the system of 156.25 MHz. The same clock is also distributed to TLK10034 evaluation board.

On the other end I have a Myricom 10GB network card that I have setup on my windows 7 PC.

For some reason the Myricom card does not detect the TLK10034 Evalboard although I have thought that the autonegociation should be straight forward after connecting the 2 boards together with a fiber optic link.

I am starting to think that the problem might come from the from the FTLX8571D3BCL-EM TX/RX because of the following observations:

1- The TX/RX LEDs of TLK10034 Evalboard turn on as soon as I disconnect the Optical TX/RX.

2- I have connected the channel C TX SMA to an oscilloscope and I can see a signal coming out of it.

Could you please help me in getting the setting that works. It is quite a critical step for me to qualify the TLK10034 to be in one of our products.

I have added in the attachment a picture of my hardware setups.

The green signal on the screen shows the channel C TX output.

And the yellow signal is the HSRXA clock output which is exactly 39.0625 MHz i.e 156.25MHz/4.

I have also provided bellow some useful links of the parts involved in my setup.

I have no understanding of the 10G Base-KR and  10G Base-SR compatibility which might be the issue.

Your help will be the  most appreciated.
