TPD2S017: TPD2S017 USB Bus protection

Hi,

I am looking for TI product aginst USBLC6-2SC6.
I think that Figure 6 of TPD2S017 datasheet shows that TPD2S017 can protect VBUS.
Is it correct?


I looked for TPD4S012, but this cost is high.

    Hi Masahiko,

    The TPD2S017 is a 2-channel solution that only protects the D+/- lines. The optional Vcc connection shown in Figure 6 is only there to lower the I/O capacitances.

    Have you considered the TPD6E004? Functionality wise, this looks very similar to the USBLC6 part mentioned.

    Hi Masahiko,

    Just to clarify, if you are looking for a 3 channel device that protects only the D+/- and Vbus lines, then a good option is the TPD3S014. This device provides ESD protection for those lines as well as OCP and RCP protection on the Vbus line for full port protection.

    If you only want 3 channels of ESD protection and no extra features, then the TPD3E001 would be a good solution.
