TCAN1051H: Confirming the S/STB leakage on the TCAN1042 and TCAN1051

Part Number: TCAN1051H
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1051

Hi Team,

Good morning, can you confirm the leakage specs of the S/STB pin of the TCAN1051 (top ) and TCAN1042 (bottom) devices?

The specs show tighter control of the leakage when the input level matches the level of where the internal resistor is pulled to. The 42 shows a max spec of -2uA, while the 51 shows no min of the non-matching input level.

I see this earlier post on the 0 not being typical for 1042:

Thank you!

  • Hi John,

The TCAN1051 has an internal pull down on the S pin and the TCAN1042 has an internal pull up on the STB pin so the min and max values for this spec are correct.

The typical values for IIL on the TCAN1051 and IIH on the TCAN1042 should not be 0 though. We are looking into this and will rev the datasheet to include the correct numbers soon. I am working with my validation team now to see if I can get some update typical values for you.
  • Hi John,

For the TCAN1042 the STB pin IIH typical is 0uA and the IIL typical is -8.35uA. Similarly for the TCAN1051 the S pin has a typical IIH value of 8.66uA and a typical IIL value of 0.

Please let me know if you have any more questions?
