TCAN1051HGV-Q1: LVTTL compatible

Part Number: TCAN1051HGV-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1051HGV

Hi,

I need to interface this CAN bus transceiver with an FPGA  that uses a standard LVTTL 3.3V logic. I read that components with the "V" suffix have a voltage shifter.

Can I put the voltage shifter to 3.3V to make the device compatible with LVTTL logic or do I need to use another component for level shifting?

Thanks

  • Hi Jacopo,

You don't need an additional component for level shifting; just connect 3.3 V to the "VIO" pin of TCAN1051HGV and the logic levels for the TXD/RXD interface will be referenced to 3.3 V.

Please let me know if you have any other questions on the device.

    Best regards,
    Max
