Part Number: DS25BR120
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS25BR110

Hi Team,

I Need the IBIS file With Differ Gain Mode. In Web  page available One IBIS file.

I need to Simulate with different Gain option for the PE(gain) selection.

My data Rate 1 Gbps and Trace length was 30 inch.

  • Hi DS25BR120,

Unfortunately, we do not have an IBIS-AMI model fro this device available. However, you may be able to add the pre-emphasis amount to your

In general, we recommend using the least amount of pre-emphasis to achieve error-free operation. Looking at the Nyquist frequency of operation in your use case (500 MHz) and with FR4 trace, the anticipated insertion loss is about -4 dB, and at Nyq = 1.56 GHz, this becomes about -9.3 dB

Thus, a pre-emphasis level of either PE[1:0] = (0, 1) or PE[1:0] = (1, 0) should be sufficient. Note that it is typically assumed that the endpoint after the DS25BR120 also will have EQ capability of its own.

    Regards,

    Michael

  • Hi Michael,

Thanks For the Update., Is Essential Rx side Required EQ after Pre Emphasis signal also at receiver end. please Confirm.

Please refer the Below Image for our Architecture. we has used teh EQ and Pre in our Board. but not in Connector Side.

    Please Provide your View.

  • Hi Prasath,

The DS25BR120 can drive a 30" trace with just de-emphasis at the output.  No equalization would be needed at the SFP connector.

The DS25BR110 can receive a 30" trace at 1 Gbps.

    Regards,

    Lee
