Part Number: DS25BR120
I'm looking for someone to identify the transmission characteristics of the DS25BR120 component. I will be transmitting a signal across a triax cable approximately 50 Ohms at a length of 125 feet. Essentially, I'm, looking to see if this IC is a good fit. The datasheet says that the component is capable of transmitting across metallic cables but does not give any properties of such things.
The DS25BR120 is intended for 100 Ohm cables. It can transmit into a 50 Ohm cable, but the signal amplitude will be lower than normal.
The actual transmission distance will depend on several cable variables. Do you know the cable attenuation per unit length at the desired data rate?
