SN65HVDA1040A-Q1: SN65HVDA1040A-Q1

Part Number: SN65HVDA1040A-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65HVDA1040A

Hello Ti,

please tell me when the CAN driver sn65hvda1040a-q1 can only read the bus line and no transmit. The ideea is that on the driver reads the CAN bus. The microcontroller take some of these messages, that were send through the bus by ohter bus nodes, and send them through a different bus line.

So I need to know when the SN65HVDA1040A-Q1 IC can only read the messages and it is not able or it is forced not to transmit.

Thank you!

  • Bogdan,

There isn’t a mode on the SN65HVDA1040A that only listens to the bus and doesn’t transmit, this is typically called Silent mode on our devices, and the SN65HVDA1040A only has Standby mode, in which both the normal receiver and transmitter drivers are disabled. However, the SN65HVDA1050A has a Silent mode in which the devices listens to the bus and reflects the message on the RXD pin, but disables the transmit driver (TXD), and this sounds like what you need.

I've also this through email, so I will close this thread.

    Regards,
