XIO2000A causing PCIe errors on Dell R710 shutdown

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: XIO2001, XIO2000A

AudioScience makes PCI and PCIe plugin audio adapters for PCs. See <www.audioscience.com>. We have done many PCI designs + drivers and more recently PCIe designs based on the XIO2000A and XIO2001.

Our current issue is a low level BIOS error reported by a Dell R710 during shutdown when an XIO2000A product is installed. This occurs without our driver loaded at all. Notes follow:

- product has a TI XIO2000A PCIe to PCI bridge chip on it
- BIOS reports an E171F error on bus 0 device 7 function 0 (B0D7F0)
- Dell support translates this error to "BIOS reporting fatal error on the PCIe device"
- Dell support also states that the Intel chipset is thowing the error
- computer BIOS and chipset drivers have been updated
- soft reboot works correctly every time
- shutdown sometimes works
- with the ASI audio driver loaded the card works correctly (but still issues the BIOS error on computer shutdown)
