Part Number: DS30EA101
Since the data rate the customer want to use this time is 1.2 Gbps,I thought DS15EA101 for 1.5 Gbps was reasonable as an equalizer,Because I did not have an evaluation kit, I purchased DS30EA101 for 3.0 Gbps.However, when evaluated, DS30EA101 seemed to be slightly unsatisfactory in characteristics.So there is a question, but when using at 1.2 Gbps,Is there anything that the DS15EA101 can handle a larger transmission path loss (the equalizer's capability at 1.2 Gbps is higher)?Is it possible to replace DS15EA101 with the DS30EA101 evaluation kit land pattern?

Regarding to pin compatibility, pin5 and pin6 in DS15EA101 are cap+ and cap- whereas
DNC(Do not connect) and DNC in DS30EA101. Should we leave open in case of DS30EA101 for pin#5,6?
I understood VCC voltage difference.
Do you recommend much newer process EQ boost device?

1). Yes you can leave pins 5 & 6 DNC on DS30EA101. If there is a 1uF Cap+ and Cap - these don't cause any harm.
2). DS30EA101 has lower power -due to the newer process. This depends on the customer designer preference. Either device can be used.

The customer expect DS30EA101 do peaking at 3 Gbps.
It is not optimal for a signal of 1.2 Gbps,
The customer thinks that it is better to use DS15EA101 of 1.5 Gbps.
