TPL7407L: problem

Part Number: TPL7407L

Hi team,

the out pin of TPL7407L is easy to breakdown when driving a 4-phase stepper motor, some is short to GND, and some is short to VCC.

What is the possible reason?

Besides, the current of motor is 400mA, and frequency is 400pps, the schematic is the same as the typical application is datasheet.

Thanks!

  • What is the COM voltage? (It requires at least 8.5 V for full output drive.)

How many outputs are used, at which duty cycle, and is the 400 mA per output or overall? Check figures 5…8 of the datasheet.

Are you sure that the inductive kickback does not exceed the absolute maximum ratings?

Are you using OUT7? (See section 8.2.1 of the datasheet.)
