DP83TC811R-Q1: SMI, MDIO, Open Drain, Level Shifter

Part Number: DP83TC811R-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TXS0102-Q1, LSF0102-Q1

Hello Ethernet team,

My customer is about to use DP83TC811R-Q1 as a ethernet PHY  for automotive cluster.

Because there's I/O voltage difference, MDC/MDIO needs level shifter 2.5V <-> 3.3V.

As I search in E2E forum, TXS0102-Q1 is used broadly though it has limited bandwidth 12MHz(push pull) and 1MHz(open drain).

Customer is using MDC 1.1MHz but it must be push-pull from master. I'd like to know MDIO is open drain or push-pull.

If MDIO is open-drain, I need to consider higher BW level shifter LSF0102-Q1.

In the datasheet, "MDIO is sourced by the external management entity and by the PHY. The data on the MDIO pin is latched on
the rising edge of the MDC. MDIO pin requires a pullup resistor (2.2 KΩ), which pulls MDIO high during IDLE and
turnaround."

If the pull-up resistor pulls MDIO high during IDLE and TA, how about data read?

I couldn't find any commend if MDIO is open-drain or push-pull though it looks open-drain with pull-up resistor.

Could you clarify this and advise what level shifter is suitable? Thank you.
