DS90UB936-Q1: Can DS90UB936-Q1 support two totally different sensor data

Part Number: DS90UB936-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB954-Q1

Hi

DS90UB936-Q1 can support two camera inputs.

My question is: can this chip support two totally different sensor data real-time transmission?

(For example, one is 720P 30fps, the other is 1080P 60fps, and the data of both sensors are real-time without network package lose)

Thank you

Jerry

  • Hi Jerry,

yes UB936 can support two different sensor's resolution in real-time transmission. but unfortunately UB936 can't support single channel 1080@60fps, you can use DS90UB954 for this design.

    regards,

    Steven

  • Hi Steven,

If one is 720P 30fps, which requires simultaneous transmission, can the other 1080P get to 30fps?
Could you provide some information about dual channel sensor transmission?
How can we achieve the performance of dual sensor transmission?
There is not much content on Datasheet.

    Thank you

    Jerry
  • Hi Steven,

The structure we hope is like this.

    1. Can UB936 transmit a 720P 30fps and a 1080P 30fps camera signal in real time? If not, can transmit two different 720P 30fps camera signals in real time?

    2. Can UB954 transmit a 720P 30fps and a 1080P 60fps camera signal in real time? If not, can transmit a 720P 30fps and a 1080P 30fps camera signal in real time?

    Thank you.

  • 1. of course UB936 can supports this mode, but UB913a/933 can't get 1080@30fps, ub935 should be used for 1080@30fps.
    2. yes.

    regards,
    Steven
  • Hi Steven

1 UB936 can support receiving a 720P 30fps and a 1080P 30fps image sensor simultaneously without delay and network package lose.
2 UB954 can support receiving a 720P 30fps and a 1080P 60fps image sensor simultaneously without delay and network package lose.
    Is it right?
    Thank you.

  • Hi Steven

We want to use DS90UB954-Q1 to implement two different Camera sensors for input, one for 720P 30fps and one for 1080P 60fps. There are the following questions:
    1. DS90UB954-Q1 input can receive one is 913A, one is 953 or 933? Or must two be 913 or two is 953?
Because this chip has only one MODE pin, I understand that both sensors must be MIPI or 12-bit or 10-bit parallel.

2, Is it possible to support two sensor with different resolutions and frame rates?
For example, one is sensor of 720P 30fps, the other is sensor of 1080P 60fps.
We use Ambarella S5L platform(https://www.ambarella.com/), which does not support Mipi virtual channel, but supports line-interleave and line-concatenated modes.

    3. How to achieve two different resolutions and frame rate of sensor data splicing by 954? Can you give me some information about this?

    Thank you

    Jerry
  • 1. any combo can work.
    2. yes.
    3. working in the default RR mode (best-effort), please check d/s on CSI forwarding mode, RR is async. mode.

    regards,
    Steven
  • Hi Steven,

    Thank you very much.

Is there any need to modify the following 954 and 925 schematic?

    Jerry

  • pls follow up the EVM refer. design and the design note in d/s based on your system design target.
for these sch., please be careful of the power supply design, it sounds why 0ohms is used here? FB in the VDDIO pin is better.

    regards,
    Steven
