TIC12400: After reset, default value of Input port

Part Number: TIC12400

Dear team,

My customer want to know how operate after reset. please review below and let me know your opinion.

-     Vs : 24V

-       The customer want to use IN1 ~ IN7 to current sink not source port (reset -> select current sink -> wetting current 2mA -> port Enable)

-       After reset , default value of Input port is disable / sourcing / no wetting current.

-       After reset, Even though IN_EN_1~7 register value is 0h(disable), Can IN1~IN7 ports operate as a sourcing ports? The customer are concerned that 24V Vs could give damage to other device if IN1~IN7 operates as a sourcing port though IN_EN_1~7 is 0h(disable).

Thank you.

  • Dino, this will not be an issue. After device reset the IN pins are in high impedance state until the device registers are configured and TRIGGER bit is set. So just have your customer program the device to the desired state and toggle the TRIGGER bit when they want to initiate device operation.
