TPS65986: firmware does not load in tps65986

Part Number: TPS65986

Hi, all!

I am trying to load the first firmware for tps65986 into spi flash.

Here is the result of the TPS6598x Application Customization Tool

TPS6598x Host Interface Tools gives the same result.
The TPS65986 is powered by VIN_3P3.
LDO_3V3, LDO_1V8A and LDO_1V8D is present. SPI Flash powered from LDO_3V3.
TPS65986 registers are in the following state:

Why PowerSource is Unknown?
Can I, through I2C, read the contents of Flash to a file?
On the oscilloscope I don’t see level changes on flash memory pins when the program is loading.

I ask for help to solve this problem

  • Hi Yakov,

Can you try loading the SPI Flash with the FTDI board? If you do not have an FTDI, you can export the Full Flash binary image from the config tool and load it onto the SPI Flash using the total phase Flash Center tool. Keep in mind that we do not support Aardvark issues further than this. You cannot load firmware via I2C if the PD controller is in BOOT mode. This function would only work once the PD controller is in APP mode.

If this answers your question, PLEASE select This resolved my issue

    Thank you,
    Eric
