TPD1E04U04: Inquire the withstand V problem

Hi Sir,

May I know that why TPD1E04U04 has the same withstand V (±16kV (air) ±16kV (contact)) for both air and contact condition?

    Candice-

    For that part, the product was only characterized up to +/-16kV and no failures were seen, so we specified it as withstanding that ESD voltage. However, as you mentioned, it is possible that the air gap condition could survive higher, most likely up to 16kV. However, we only guarantee the performance on the datasheet.
