Part Number: TPS65988EVM
Hi TI,I'm looking for a type-C & PD EVK board from TI, could you help me out to choose from the below one:1. TPS65988EVM2. TPS65987-90EVM3. PMP20172If you can list down the differences among three and the specialty of each then it will be great. Is PMP20172 evk kit is available for sale, on TI website it is flashing that fully assembled board is not available for sale?Which PD interface is supported in TPS65987-90EVM? Is it PD2.0 or PD3.0?Please list down other evk kits also If those are superior then the above mentioned three.Regards,Harish
Hi Harish, The PMP20172 contains TPS25740A, which is not recommended for new designs. The remaining two EVMs contain the TPS65987D and TPS65988. These parts share some similarities in architecture, firmware and support tools. They both have PD3.0 support. '87D is a single port Type-C device. '88 is a dual port Type-C device. It may be configured to emulate an '87D. The TPS65987-90EVM has an expansion header to pair with the DP-EXPANSION-EVM and add Mini DisplayPort and DisplayPort Receptacles. The TPS65988EVM has an on-board DisplayPort Receptacle. I hope this is helpful.
EDIT: Please take a look at the updated TPS65987 EVM. It is updated and cost reduced compared to the -90EVM you mention.
