Hi,

I would like to know how to calculate data rate of MIPI.

According to below thread, in 4-lane CSI-2 mode, it is 3.5 times the PCLK , in 2-lane CSI-2 modem it is 7 times the PCLK.

On the also DS90UB936-Q1, is same calculation applied?

Hello,

The thread you have is for a different part. For the DS90UB936-Q1, you can check the datasheet section 7.4.21 CSI-2 Transmitter Frequency. The output data rate can be configured on the device and it is dependent on the input REFCLK.

Not a problem.

Yes, CSI versus RAW mode does have an impact on the output datarate. Section 7.4.2 has more information on the RAW mode output data rate. In RAW10 mode, the output data rate is 1.4Gbps, and in RAW12 it is 1.87Gbps.

In the 12 bit low frequency mode, is Line rate equal to fPCLK × (2/3) × 28 as the 12 bit high frequency mode?

Kuramochi-san,

Unfortunately 12 bit low frequency mode is not supported on this device. The 12 bit mode on the 936 is only high frequency.

Though there is below describe,936 does not correspond 12 bit LF mode only, does it?

Customer's project is proceeding with 936 and 913(12 bit LF mode)now...

That is correct, unfortunately. 913 is the only device that supports 12 bit LF. All of the newer part numbers either support 10bit/12bit HF or the CSI protocol.

Does it mean that 12 bit LF data cannot receive with DES of CSI-2 output format?

Although final checking, the DS90UB936-Q1 can not receive the data from DS90UB913A-Q1 with PCLK=27MHz/12 bit LF mode, right?

Kuramochi-san,

This means that the device is not rated for the acceptable PCLK frequencies required in 12 bit LF. In addition, the conversion that the 936 does from 10 bit/12 bit HF to CSI-2 will not work since the timing necessary will not consider the PCLK frequencies supported in 12 bit LF. So both of your statements are correct. :)

Hi Kuramochi-san,

I just realized you were referencing the 913A and not the 933/934. Apologies for any confusion I may have caused.

You can use the 936 with the 913A in 12 bit LF mode. Register 0x6D of the 960 device will allow you to configure the mode properly.

Though primary question, how much is the MIPI output data rate and clock rate with DS90UB913A-Q1 12 bit LF mode?

You can compute the data rate by: fPCLK * 28
