TPS65981EVM: TPS65981EVM User's Guide errors

Part Number: TPS65981EVM

Dear Support,

when a new version of the doc will be available? the current one is not very good.

In particular: can you confirm the position of the switches as in 5.1.1.1 and 5.1.1.2 ??

Which is the default position for standard operation (no flashing etc etc)?

I am powering the board only from the microusb connector, I mean to use the FDTI bridge and I would like to run the "Notebook System" scenario.

Thanks

Francesco

  • Hi Francesco,

the following E2E thread highlights the changed in the EVM user's guide and corrected values:

For section 5.1.1.1, S1 is referring to S1,

For section 5.1.1.2, S3 is supposed to be S2.

If this answers your question, PLEASE select This resolved my issue

    Thank you,
    Eric

  • Hi Eric,

    thanks for your reply.

Is it normal that the Host Interface Tool gives the result below:

All switches in S2 are "high" and S1 is configured as CFGID 1 in table 3 of the User's Guide. I simply attached a PD capable travel adapter.

    Regards

    Francesco

  • Hi Francesco,

This is not a normal result. I would suggest clicking on "I2C Scanner" at the bottom of the window. You should see an I2C address register. I suspect the "Device I2C Address" is incorrect in your configuration. Simply change the "0x38" to whatever address comes up when doing the I2C scan.

    Thank you,
    Eric
