SN65LVDS31: /SN65LVDS32 vs the DS90LV047A/DS90LV048A

Part Number: SN65LVDS31
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90LV047A, DS90LV048A, SN65LVDS32

Hello,

The specs of these devices (TX/RX) is very similar. What is the differentiation between these devices?

Thanks,

Nick

  • Hello,

These 2 pairs of LVDS devices are indeed very similar and perform the same functions. They are not identical, however, as there are difference in parameter values as you can see in the datasheet. In particular the ESD voltage is not the same between the 2 pairs.

Also, the 2 drivers ( SN65LVDS31, DS90LV047A) have some significant differences in switching parameter values.

The receivers have different thresholds (-100 /+100 mV for SN65LVDS32, vs. -100/0 mV for DS90LV048A). The fail-safe feature is also different: SN65LVDS32 has fail-safe for open inputs only, while DS90LV048A has fail-safe for open and short conditions.

Please refer to the datasheets for other differences in parameter values.

    Regards,
    Yaser
