Qualcomm Quick Charge selection IC

Hello,

i'm looking for a IC which is located on the "Client" (like a Phone, Tablet, ...) side of a USB QC wall adapter.

Does something like a USB-C Interface (Power Management) IC exist, which:

 - can select the VBUS voltage via Quick Charge 2, 3 and 4 Interface (continuous mode)

 - has a Microcontroller Interface like SPI or I2C

 - optional: can monitor the VBUS voltage and or current

 - optional: has a fixed 3.3V output for the Microcontroller

  • Hello Wolfgang,

I'm confused by your reference to Qualcomm.  Are you wanting to interface to a Qualcomm IC, if so, which one?  A block diagram would be helpful.

    Regards,

    ~Leonard

  • Hi Leonard,

i gave it a try and drew a diagram:

On the left side is a random USB Quick Charge wall Adapter. On the right side is my Device.

The Charger Interface IC on the "existing USB charger" side, would be a Qualcomm Quick Charge compatible IC (which IC doesn't matter, as long as it uses the Qualcomm QC standard).

And on my circuit is the IC I'm looking for. This IC is talking to the Charge Interface IC via D+ and D- to control the VBUS Voltage.

  • Hi Wolfgang,

Unfortunately, we do not have a USB Type-C Controller that supports Quick Charge. Our Type-C PD controllers are compliant to the USB PD standard and can provide higher power and current through USB Power Delivery.

    Thank you,
    Eric
