DP83869HM: Link Loss Pass Through

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask DP83869HM?

Our customer would like to configure RGMII to RGMII with 1Gbps.

There is the description "The DP83869HM also supports Link Loss Pass Through in 100M mode."
So, it is impossible to configure 1Gbps, right?

Hi Matsumoto-san,

Link loss pass through is a media converter mode feature. First, can you clarify what is the actual configuration? Is customer using 2 units of DP83869HM in RGMII-RGMII back-to-back configuration? In this case, link loss pass through feature is not applicable since this is not the media converter of the DP83869HM.

Therefore, DP83869HM is not applicable for this case, right?

Hello Matsumoto-san,

If customer is using two DP83869HM in back to back configuration with RGMII interface, then link loss pass through cannot be used. However, if the customer needs a media convertor, then DP83869HM can be support link loss pass through in media convertor mode.
