Part Number: DP83848I-POE-EK
I am trying to use DP83848i in SNI mode to communicate with the processor MC68360.
I got the eval board DP83848I-POE-EK for this Ethernet chip (Schematic attached).
J5 MII_MODE = High
J17 SNI_MODE = High
Above both setting enables SNI mode.
PHYAD0 = No jumper(Default internal pulled up)
PHYAD1= No jumper (Default internal pulled down)
PHYAD2= No Jumper (Default internal pulled down)
I can measure 3V at SNI MODE pin but at MII_MODE pin I see ~0V (0.056V to be exact). And MII MODE pin goes High when CRS goes High and goes Low when CRS goes Low.
1. Is chip really entering to SNI mode? Because MII_MODE pin is not high, it toggles in sync with CRS.
2. How to make MII_MODE pin high all time? (this pin has internal weak pull down)
I am not using MDIO and MDC, my processor doesn't support MDIO and MDC. All setup has to be done through pin configuration.
