Hello all,

I am looking for the Cable Characteristic Requirements when using this serializer (and the compatible Deserializer).

I have found a document for the single-ended solution (coaxial cable: SNLA229–March 2015 - Cable Requirements for the DS90UB913A & DS90UB914A) : http://www.ti.com/lit/an/snla229/snla229.pdf

But what about the differential solution?

I have already the Cable Characteristic Requirements for DS90UH925Q & DS90UH926Q (FPDLInk III too). Are the requirements on the communication channel equivalent?

Else, I would like to know if the differential solution requirements exist for the DS90UB913A - DS90UB941A solution , and where I could get it.

Hello Guillaume,

We don't have the differential requirements publicly released yet. However, if you would like to use the differential solution, adding approximately a 3dB margin to the coax requirement should provide enough margin for an STP cable.

Differential cable brings additional constraints than Coax cable ones: such as intra-pair skew.

Hello Guillaume,

For intra-pair skew, please target < 5mil mismatch for the PCB trace and use high quality STP/STQ cable designed for high speed applications > 2Gbps.
