Dear all,

For TPS65988DJ, usually the internal switch is used for the source output.

If my customer don't want to use the internal switch, but use external load switch to source the output, is there any concern?

Note, the enable of external load switch is controlled by GPIO(Plug in event).

Hello John,

Over current protection and thermal shutdown are not possible when implementing an external power path. If this is alright for your customer, then their design should be fine to implement it.

Hi Adam,

The over current protection can be implemented by the external load switch.

Is there any other consideration besides the protection?
