TRS3232: Supply change impact on RS3232 part

Part Number: TRS3232

Hi Team,

Our customer is using TRS3232 device and changes design from 5Vcc to 3.3Vcc. Can this change in supply from 5V to 3.3V, create any impact on lines RIN (13th pin) and DOUT(14th pin). Is there any variation on voltage levels.

Thanks in advance for the help and support.

Regards, Shinu Mathew.

  • Hi Shinu Mathew,

A change in VCC will not significantly affect either the DOUT or RIN behavior. The DOUT levels depend on the V+/V- rails which are regulated by the device's charge pump. The RIN thresholds will vary slightly with VCC - you can reference the VIT+/- specifications in Section 6.7 of the datasheet for details.

Please also note that when changing the VCC level, different C1/C2/C3/C4 values are recommended. Please refer to Table 3 of the datasheet for the recommended values.

If you have any further questions please let us know.

    Regards,
    Max
