Hello! I want to design and build a small HD-SDI video switcher for four inputs and two outputs with both PGM and PVW buses and one type of transition - CUT. Is it possible to use the built-in multiplexer LMH0056 for seamless switching of HD-SDI signals with switching quality as cut in vision mixers? Or, for example, apply the crosspoint switch chip DS25CP104A together with the LMH0056 reclocker?

Hi Yaroslav,

I believe you can use LMH0056 to switch between different inputs. Actual switching from one input to another input is the same as DS25CP104 device(this is in order of nano seconds).What are you planning to use for the two output cable drivers? Can you send us a block diagram of the overall design?

Yes, I plan to use two drivers. I’m wondering if such a circuit would allow a seamless switching if the signals were previously synchronized to the reference signal? Or do I need to re-sync the inputs?

Hi Yaroslav,

LMH0056 is going to be gen locked to SDI input. Also, you are not doing any de-serialization or other video processing to introduce video delays or buffering. So I don't think you need re-synchronization.
