Do you have a block diagram? What is the insertion loss of the cable? 

For DisplayPort, TI has two solutions:

DP139 is a limited re-driver which the transmitter provides its own SWING and Pre-emphasis, different from the DP source SWING and Pre-emphasis.

DP142 is a linear re-driver which the transmitter does not have its own SWING and Pre-emphasis.

Either one of them can be used depends on the system application requirement.

They can order a EVM and use it to evaluate the cable.
