TLK105L: Inquiries about Link pulse (Urgent Help/)

Part Number: TLK105L

Hello Team.,

I have 5 inquiries about TLK105L as below. Could you advise me ?

I hope to have your feedback by the end of today July26th....

(1) Is the polarity of FLP NAGATIVE if the Polarity Swap: of Control Register 3 (CR3) is set “0” on the circuit of "6.3.1 TPI Network Circuit" ?

(2) I think FLP usually has positive polarities. Why does TLK105L have negative polarity as default ?

(3) In the IEEE standard, Is the polarity of FLP allowed to be either positive or negative?

(4) Is the function (5.2.3.5 Automatic Link Polarity Detection and Correction) for automatically determining the polarity of TLK105L mandatory in the IEEE standard?

(5) In the TLK105L, Is it recommended that the FLP be output with negative polarity?

Any advice will be appreciated.

Jin

  • Hi Jin,

Polarity supported by default is Positive only. However it does have capability to detect negative polarity and reverse automatically in reciever. Please review the layout, may have got reversed in that.

You may want to share the

    a) schematics,

    b) scope capture of the FLP on the board

    c) Measuring point on the board.

    d) register dump of register 0x00 to 0x1F.
