Hi team,

I have one question about capability of 2.1A/2.4A charging by TPS25830.

I understand that TPS25830 cannot support DCP divider mode, and TPS25830 can support DCP BC1.2 1.5A charging.

My question is if the system which uses TPS25830 can support 2.1A/2.4A charging?

Is that possible for the master controller to communicate through DP/DM to enable 2.1A/2.4A charging?

I think this is nothing to do with TPS25830 function, but I would like to know if this is possible in system level.

Hi Shinji-San,

If the tps25830 use for type A port , it only can support 1.5aas the CDP mode is 1.5A.

If it use for type C port the type C phone can charge up to 3A

We have test tps25830 with iPhoneX which use C to lingting port it can be changed up to 2.4A. It depends on phone behavior.

Have you ever tested Samsung Galaxy phone with TPS25830 CDP mode with type-C cable?

Hi shinji-San,

We have ever test the Samsung S9 plus with tps25830 use type C cable. The charging current is about 1.5A in CDP mode.
