Hi Sir,

Could you please help to reconfirm the capability of our TUSB212 redriver?

Customer is asking if their trace are too long for their trace length.

PCH to MB connector around 11.x inch + 3.x inch to IO connector + IO board to output is around 3.8 inch.

Total trace will be more than 18 inch, is it suitable we use TUSB212 for their design?

And what is your suggestion for the trace length before redriver and after redriver?

BTW, for their design would you suggest them to put redriver on MB(close to connector) or IO board?

Hi,

TUSB212 performance will be dependent on the layout and should be placed close to the USB connector and not the I/O connector. Does the customer have a estimate on the loss in db per inch for their stack up and I/O flat cable /connector?? Assuming they are using FR4 and follow good layout practices for high speed signals I believe this application is acceptable.
