DS110DF111: VCO Programming Values and Registers

Part Number: DS110DF111

Dear TI Staff:

Can you provide verify and/or recommend register setting for the VCO data rates listed below for the DS110DF111 and DS110DF125?

Are there any general guidance on the register settings for the the PPM Delta registers?  Recommendations vary 0xCC to 0xFF

  • Hi,

Please refer to the retimer 10G programming guide sections 3.9 and 3.10 for detailed instructions related to both Standard CDR rate configuration and manual CDR rate configuration (refer to the TI.com link below).

    https://www.ti.com/lit/an/snla323/snla323.pdf

The TI SigCon Architect GUI may be used to sanity check your Manual CDR rate calculations for registers 0x60 through 0x63. For Register 0x64 (PPM tolerance) it is ok to use value of 0xFF for most cases.

    • Go to the TI SigCon Architect page to download both the GUI main installer plus 10G retimer GUI profiles
    • The user may then open the SigCon Architect GUI and run it in "Demo mode", and then perform the CDR manual rate calculations via the GUI "CDR tab". Refer to the EVM's user guide per link below for instructions (Section 3.1.2.4)

    Cordially,
