TCA9535: unused I/O pins on SNB60006PW

Part Number: TCA9535

Hi all

There is a question in SNB6006PW, not a TCA9535 question.
SNB6006PW is a Japanese amusement-only IC.
Since it is close to TCA9535 IC, I will ask a question.

Is require pull-ups and pull-downs on unused I/O pins on  SNB60006PW?

In TCA9535, the following description was in the datasheet.

TCA9535 Datasheet  p.3
" (1) If port is unused, it must be tied to either VCC or GND through a resistor of moderate value (about 10 kΩ) "

  • Hey Shuji,

I am not familiar with the SNB6006 device. It may be best for you to ask the manufacturer of that device for a more accurate answer.

I can provide comment on floating pins though:

If the pin is an output then typically you can leave it floating but if the pin is an input, you should never leave it floating because a floating input allows for the input to potentially float to a partially conductive state if the input is a gate to CMOS FETs. This results in shoot through currents which in the long term for the device, may cause failure. The device would also see additional leakage current and unnecessary power draw (important for battery applications).

  • Hi Bobby

    SNB60006PW is a TI product.

I would like to send SNB6006PW data sheet in a private message.
    Please permit private messages.
Please check the unused I / O again.

    Best Regards,
    Ishiwata
