TRS3232E: TRS3232EIPWR Driver issue

Part Number: TRS3232E

Hi Support

The TRS3232ECPWR is origin design but they need high-temperature application so change to TRS3232EIPWR but can't use.
Do you know why?
Does the spec look like not any different, Is the driver?
The customer wants to use the TRS3232EIPWR in Linux system
Please help.

  • Hi Yu,

TRS3232EI and TRS3232EC should have equivalent performance, just different temperature ranges.  I can't think of any reason why you couldn't replace one of these part numbers for another one in a system.  Do you have any further details on why it is believed that TRS3232EIPWR cannot be used?

    Max

  • Dear Max

    Please see the test result

  • Hi Yu,

I wouldn't expect a DOUT pin to be at 0 V for either device unless it is powered off or if this is a DC measurement on a switching signal.  Can you please probe the DIN and corresponding DOUT port of each device using an oscilloscope?  Similarly, it would be good to look at RIN compared to ROUT to verify the receiver is functional in both cases.  (The voltage at RIN is primarily dependent on the source that is driving the voltage, too, so it is strange that it is varying from device to device.)

Do you see consistent results across several parts of each type, or have you just tested one of each so far?

    Regards,
    Max
