DP83TC811S-Q1: Bad CRC and CRC Gate

CRC (cyclic redundancy check) is an error checking code. Bad CRC basically means you have a packet error, a miscommunication. Setting the WOL_CFG register bit 12 to 1 will allow for indication of bad CRC.  

To clarify, you are successfully able to read and write other registers/bits except for bit 12 of WOL_CFG? The default setting is 1, if you are writing the register but resetting the device before reading it back, you will read a 1 for this bit.

Do you mean the default value of 12th bit (CRC Gate) is  "1" ?

I write "0" to CRC Gate, it should be "0" if no reset, right?

Yes you are correct, default value is 1, so if you write 0 with no reset, you should read 0.

Are you able to write other bits of this specific register? Are you able to access the extended registers through register D and E?

The customer can write other bits in WOL_CFG I will ask customer to have a try about accessing the extended registers.

They said they can surf the Internet  successfully but the 6th bit of 0x04A1 is always "1", it means Bad CRC was received. It doesn't normal,  right?

Yes if register 0x04A1 bit 6 is always 1, there are always errors. Is the customer able to achieve link? Please send me a schematic if possible.
