TLK10034: Using TLK10034 in XAUI to 10GBASE-R mode

Part Number: TLK10034

Hi,

We are looking for a Quad Port XAUI to 10GBASE-R/XFI converter device for below application,

Processor/MAC with XAUI interface <---> TLK10034 with XAUI interface at  host side & 10G-BASE-R at line side <---> Mult-rate 10G Phy with 10GBASE-R at host side & 10GBASE-R/SGMII at Line side <---> SFP+/SFP for 10G/1G.

Here the XAUI to 10GBASE-R converter is required as the Processor supports only XAUI (10G) and we need to support 10G/1G using a Multi-rate Phy.

Let me know if TLK10034 is the right device for this application.

Regards,

Jaison

  • Hi,

    The TLK10034 may indeed be used as a XAUI to SFI PHY SerDes. The chip also supports legacy 1G rate. You may refer to its datasheet for configuration instructions.

  • Hi,

    Here we need to run the interface at two speeds as follows,

    1. Processor/MAC at 10G XAUI <---> 10G (SFP+) , We are sure, TLK10034 will support this.

    2. Processor/MAC at 10G XAUI <---> 1G (SFP) , Not sure TLK10034 can run in this mode (Low speed side at XAUI rate & High speed side at 1G rate). This is why we went for another phy with rate matching capabilities.
