TPS25820: TPS25820 attachments detection fail

Part Number: TPS25820

Dear team,

Customer has not detect well when inserted USB. Would you kindly help check schematic and give some suggestion?

I could see that the input capacitor is not enough and the power supply of Vin and POL is different. Not sure if the power sequence will affect the detection. Fail issue status is same as Power Cable/No Sink Connected in the sheet2.

Thanks.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Sammi

  • Hi Sammi,

A few schematic changes are needed, as listed below:

    • EN and CHG can be tied directly to the input, VEN = VIN = VCHG. Please remove the pullup resistors connected to them currently.

The device will perform best with these changes

    • There needs to be 0.1uF or greater ceramic bypass capacitor between IN and GND as close to the device as possible for local noise decoupling
    • A total of 120 uF is recommended at IN
    • It is recommended to have 10 uF on the OUT pin

Please ensure your sink device is advertising Rd.

    Thanks,

    Emma
