SN75DP159: Could we lane swap input signal?

Hello expert,

My customer would like to know if we can lane swap input signal like below picture. Change TX1 and TX2 from input. TX2 input should connect to pin1 and pin2. TX2 output should connect to pin30 and pin29 originally.

Now they would like to change that TX2 input should connect to pin4 and pin5. TX2 output should connect to pin27 and pin26. Does the HDMI signal still work normally?

No, please refer to Figure 24 and 25 in datasheet, only input can be swapped. Output remains fixed.

The DP159 has fixed outputs, OUT_CLK(pines 25 and 26) will always send the HDMI clock required for synchronization, this output has to be connected to TMDS_CLK in the connector.

The clock output should match the connector; you may change the order of data lanes, the order changes has to be done in the Rx side as well.

So your proposed implementation will be ok.
