THVD1429: Differential driver outputs behavior during power down

Part Number: THVD1429

Hello team,

I'd like to confirm about the differential driver outputs(A&B) behavior during power down for THVD1429,
When Vcc and DE are turned off at the same timing. I expect a case that the same device is on the receiver side as well and only the power supply on the driver side is turned off, is there any potential issue or is there a recommended power down sequence?
From the datasheet, A&B should be HIZ when DE is low but I wonder a case of turning off Vcc.

Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Shinya,

When THVD1429 is unpowered (Vcc = 0V), the driver outputs will display similar characteristics to its powered state with driver disabled (DE = 0V). This is specified on the datasheet under receiver characteristics - Bus input current with driver disabled, device powered or unpowered.

This device is designed to work properly in the case that you described - an unpowered node will not impede other transceivers from using the bus.

    Regards,

    Eric
