TUSB1044: Two pair USB3 signal Type-C Application

Part Number: TUSB1044
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: HD3SS3212, HD3SS3220, TUSB542

Dear Team,

My customer has a monitor project that would like to use TUSB1044 for downstream Type-C port as below figure.

There are two pairs of USB3 signal from HUB. Due to they don't require to support DisplayPort, so they only use USB3 redriver function of TUSB1044.

Could you help to check if it is workable or not? Is there anything on schematic that I need to take care?

Thank you.

  • Hi

Each port would require its own Type C connector to support both flip and non-flip orientation.

    HD3SS3212 is a passive switch.

HD3SS3220 is a passive switch with an integrated CC controller.

    TUSB542 (5G)/1042 (10G) is an active switch.

All of them can be used depending on the system application.

    Thanks

    David
