DP83822IF: TLK110 DP8822 PHY

Part Number: DP83822IF
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLK110, TMDSICE3359

Hi,

I use AM33559 in my project and get references AM335x ICE EVM Rev2.1. TLK110 was used in Ethernet circuit. I'll use DP83822 instead of TLK110 but I am confused about this situation. According to AM335x ICE EVM Rev2.1 was used MII and RMII protocol in Ethernet circuit. I don't want to get out of the circuit structure. DP83822 doesn't have CLKOUT pin but AM335X_REFCLK_RMII1 signal was sent to processor. Is it important in the circuit. Can I do same process with DP83822? If I can this, How? he relevant circuits are below. Also I realized that The old version(https://media.digikey.com/pdf/Data%20Sheets/Texas%20Instruments%20PDFs/TMDXICE3359_SCH.pdf )TMDSICE3359 board was used different Ethernet circuit from new version. What are the differences this circuits?

  • Hi,

Incase you want to use DP838322 with MII interface,

For MII :  It provides both TX_CLK and RX_CLK on pin 2 and 25.

For RMII Master Mode: You need to feed 25 MHz Clock to XI pin. Configure DP83822 in RMII mode using strap resistors. It provides 50MHz clock on pin RX_D3 ( pin 1).
