TCA9509: Life Span(EOL) of I2C repeater

Part Number: TCA9509

Hi,

I am using  I2C repeater TCA9509DGKR in our project, Can you please share the life span (EOL) of this I2C repeater ?

Thanks,

  • Hey Vipul,

I haven't heard of any EOLs for this device.

My personal opinion is that this device fills an important gap in our portfolio (2 cases).

The first is the this is the only device in our catalogue which has an offset on A side while being pin to pin with devices with a B side offset. This means in cases where customers accidentally connect two static voltage offset buffers together, this device can potentially resolve the problem. This can only be done in the DGK package.

The second is this device comes in two packages, the second is currently our smallest I2C buffer (X2QFN). The DGK package is an industry standard package and some customers do NOT want the smallest package we offer because it is unleaded and they require a leaded package.

For these reasons, I would not expect this device to EOL in the near term.
