DP83822H: Control Suite lwip example conversion to use DP83822H

Hello,

Using the lwip control suite example found here:

C:\ti\controlSUITE\device_support\f28m36x\v220\F28M36x_examples_Master\enet_lwip\m3

We have a custom board using the F28M36 chip with the DP83822H. The example seems to have been written for a board with the TLK110

Looking to modify the existing example to work with the new PHY. As far as I can tell the Pins are setup on the same pins, and the PHY Addresses used are shared between the two PHYs. The below signals were captured with a Saleae logic analyzer, and I am uncertain what to make of the MDIO analog reading where the high/low during the data portion are changing state but not reaching full low.

Any information that would be helpful for migrating to the DP83822H to help successfully test this hardware?

Do you have specific insight to what software changes may be needed? The document shared is about hardware replacement, and I am not easily seeing a parallel to what needs to change in software to properly work.

The MDIO pins not being pulled high or low enough could be an issue with the pull up and pull down resistors not being strong enough. Could you check what values are used on the boards?

MDIO pull up Resistor value is 2..2k

The system the PHY is on is using a micro, not running Linux. I do not believe Linux drivers will help.

Is there only one 2.2k MDIO pullup and is anything else connected to the MDIO pin besides this PHY?

There is a wire connected to MDC and MDIO as an temp test point that has been soldered to the surface mount resistor pads.

TI--33--33--PHY is the signal line, plus the pullup, and the temp wire. I would say noise is not an issue because it seems to be repeatable and does not change.

Hi Paul,

Apologies for the delay. Spoke to my team internally in regards to this and it looks like although TLK110 is similar to the DP83822 it is not exactly compatible compared to the TLK105 and TLK106 which is a drop in replacement.

Would it be possible for you to try and access the PHY's registers using our GUI available on our site? We have a USB2MDIO tool that would be able to read and write into the DP83822 and would like to see if that works.
