DP83848Q-Q1: Possible Reason for LED Frequently Blinking Sometimes

Hi Team,

When DP83848Q is connected to the router, sometimes the LED blinks blinks frequently at the beginning, then finally the LED will turn on which shows the connection is good. After changing the cable or router, the LED will not blink at the beginning.

There is also another weird problem, DP83848Q doesn't blink when large data is transmitted. Could you please help advise the possible reasons for the LED blinking?

Here is the register value before and after LED turning on.

Hi,

Above logs indicates that PHY got a link up followed by link-down. Are you observing above logs when LED is blinking ?

Hi Geet,

Sorry for the confusion. For the LED, sometimes it turns off and then turns on by itself. For example, when the cable is connected, the LED turns on which indicates the connection is good. Some time later, the LED turns off, one minute later, it turns on again without doing anything.

The log is taken when the LED turns on and turns off.

Hi Hao,

Can you please check if power supply is stable as it may cause PHY to loose the link ? I recomend monitoring the power supply and reset pin.
