Team,

We’re currently using the SN65MLVD205AD which has the failsafe feature that defaults to a Low output on the Receiver when the input in not being driven by its corresponding driver.

Do you have any transceivers in the multi point family (M-LVDS) that have a built in failsafe that defaults to a High output?

If you don’t, and we would like for a default High output, do you recommend changing to the SN65MLVD202A and then adding biasing resistors to force a High output when not driven, like they show in AN-1194 in Figure 3?

Thank you.

  • Hi Bravos,

You'll need to switch to a type-1 receiver like the SN65MLVD202A and implement biasing resistors, as you mentioned. Also note that the expected load for M-LVDS is 50ohms.

    Regards,

    I.K.
