TUSB211: any risk to TUSB211IRWBR

Dear sir,

TUSB211 is used as the cable re-driver at the middle of cable which power is from the slave one, then TUSB211 D+/D- pin will connect with host before the slave one provide power to TUSB211.

Do you think any risk to TUSB211 at the above period?

Hi Jack,

USB2 host does not drive D+/D- when USB device is not connected. In the cable is TUSB211 bus powered, correct? Typically Vbus is enabled from the host side not device side.

Also you may want to consider newer solutions such as TUSB212 & our latest TUSB216. These devices have more drive capability than TUSB211.
