I want to begin with UTP 1^st, as my link is <10m.

Does this device/EVM have a
- traffic generator or at least a PRBS coder and encoder (PRBS 9/11, etc.)?
- BER counter? Package loss indicator? Log files or SW for LOL, LOS, LOF, resync?
- link quality indicator?
To establish a link, (bidirectional) do I need one or two Eval boards?
Would any twisted pair lane work? Any specifications you would recommend?

Hi Nicholas,

The DP83TC811 has built in PRBS generator and error counter, Signal Quality Indicator, and configurable interrupts for loss of link, and other error scenarios. Please review the diagnostic tool kit in section 8.3.3 of the datasheet for information and register settings for these features.

You will need two EVM boards to establish a link between two DP83TC811 devices.

Any automotive MATEnet cable will be best for these EVMs.

Thanks Justin,

I see we have IBIS models for spice, do we have AMI modes for SI simulations, specifically for PAM3?

Hi Nicholas,

We do not have simulations for MDI signals for DP83TC811. The IBIS model covers the SGMII interface.
